Chicago Radio Outlet Launches New Site + Podcast
by Joshua P. Ferguson
With a mind-boggling 838 shows to its credit, Chicago via Kansas City independent radio outlet Abstract Science has an enduring track record playing "future music and its roots" via the radio waves of WLUW 88.7FM, the local Loyola University station here in Chicago. As a member of the radio team, which also includes my esteem co-hosts Chris Widman, Henry Self, and Luke Stokes, I'm grateful to have been a part of roughly 50 of those broadcasts, which range from underground bass, to house, to leftfield, to techno, to a healthy cross-section of the more obscure sounds that can be found in the grey areas between these genres if you look close enough.
Extending the brand this past week, Abstract Science launched a brand-new website featuring a running archive of its shows, a blog that covers some of the particular highlights from recent shows, and, most compellingly, a podcast that now allows us to extend our reach beyond our 10 to midnight time slot on Thursdays.
